Accessing Web Inquiry after upgrade returns ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows

Behavior

  • After our upgrade, navigating to Web Inquiry along the Main Menu returns "MVT_Web_Inquiry.ShowInquiry: ORA-01422" and I am unable to access the inquiry page.

Known Causes

  • We have seen this occur previously because there are two menu item URLs to access the Web Inquiry tool, using the same URL below:
    • MVT_Web_Inquiry.Home?InquiryType=APINVOICE
      Most likely, one of the menu items existed in your pre-upgraded environment and the other is from your post-upgraded environment.

Resolution

  • To address this behavior, please follow the steps below:
    1. Log into MarkView Home > Kofax Module Admin > Menu Item.
    2. Search for the two rows containing the same URL value under the ITEM_VALUE column.
    3. Modify the URL value for the entry that is NOT labeled 'AP Invoices' from 'MVT_Web_Inquiry.Home?InquiryType=APINVOICE' to 'MVT_Web_Inquiry.Home?InquiryType=APINVOICE_170'.
    4. Then, please try and access the Web Inquiry > AP Invoices menu item again from within MarkView Home after logging out and logging back into MarkView Home again as the MarkView UserID.

      Moving foward, Kofax Technical Support recommends the sole use of the product version of Web Inquiry. To avoid any confusion among your end users, you should remove the legacy Web Inquiry menu item, or at least, revoke the permissions for your users to access the URL.

      To remove the legacy Web Inquiry Menu Item:
      1. Log into MarkView Home > Kofax Module Admin > Menu Item.
      2. Search for the row containing the 'MVT_Web_Inquiry.Home?InquiryType=APINVOICE_170' URL value that you modified above. 3. Click on 'Delete' within that row

To revoke the menu permission to the legacy Web Inquiry Menu Item:

  1. Log into MarkView Home > Kofax Module Admin > Menu Item Group Auth.
  2. Search for the rows for 'Web Inquiry' under the Item Menu column heading.
  3. Click Delete on each of the rows that exist for any other Web Inquiry applications besides the product one named 'AP Invoices'
