PROCESSIT is initiated by starting the following three services in the order listed:

  • Database
  • SOA (BPEL)
  • WebLogic

Starting the database service

To start the database service, log in to the Oracle database server as the database owner, and then perform the following steps:

  1. From a command prompt, type export ORACLE_SID=<SID>, where <SID> equals the SOA database SID. The SID is case-sensitive in Unix and Linux environments.
  2. Press Enter.
  3. Type .oraenv, and then press Enter. This command sets the environment.
  4. Type the SOA database SID, and then press Enter.
  5. Type lsnrctl, and then press Enter. This command starts the listener, which will monitor incoming client connection requests and manage server traffic
  6. Type sqlplus / as sysdba, and then press Enter. This command creates the connection to the database.
  7. Type startup to start the database, and then press Enter.

Starting the SOA (BPEL) service

To start the SOA service, log in to the Oracle Applications server, and then do the following:

  1. From a command prompt, type cd /<Applications home directory>/opmn/bin, and then press Enter.
  2. Type ./opmnctl startall, and then press Enter. This command starts the Oracle processes.
  3. Type ./opmnctl status, and then press Enter to confirm that all processes have started.

Starting the WebLogic service

To start the WebLogic, log in to the WebLogic server, and then do the following:

  1. From a command prompt, type cd /<Applications home directory>/bin, and then press Enter.
  2. Type ./startWebLogic.sh &> /var/log/weblogic.log?. This command starts the service and writes the weblogic.log file in the background.
