It is possible to assign Windows Active Directory objects to XBOUND objects in order to restrict the visibility and usage of the objects for users or user-groups. The assignment of Active Directory objects can be done within the XBOUND plugins (please see the XBOUND help file for more detailed information).
If an Active Directory assignment needs to be reset for an XBOUND object, the XBOUND DataClient can be used to save the current configuration and reset the object.
For example, to reset the Process "AutoRotate" XBOUND object, do the following:
Note: Before proceeding with the following steps, it is highly recommended that screenshots of the current configuration are saved in case the settings need to be restored manually. For example:
- Go to the [drive]:/<installation directory>/xbound folder, and then run the xboundDataClient.exe file.
- From the xboundDataClient window, type the applicable platform-service connection information, and then click Connect.
- From the left pane, expand Client, expand Processes, and then click Process "AutoRotate".
- Copy the contents of the Acl text box, paste the information into a new text editor document, and then save the file.
Note: If the object needs to be restored, the Acl information can be copied from the saved text document and re-added to the Acl field.
