CPI integration between PD and WA

Issue

Customer is planning to implement PD AP 7.10 on SAP S/4 Hana 2020 and WA Tomcat 7.10 in our landscape.
For communication between the Web Application and the PD server, they are using JCO RFC and RFC user, as per the documents provided by the Kofax. However, in SAP there are a few new approaches available, such as CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) Why can't we use CPI instead of an RFC call for the communication between PD and WA?

Answer  

Instead of installing the WebApp on an external Tomcat server we recommend to install it on the SAP Netweaver stack.

Then no middleware is required as the communication is done internally.
