How to find log files in INVOICES
Issue
INVOICES administrators should review log files when they are experiencing issues with the system or solution, with new configurations, changes to the environment, etc.
Solution
To find the log files generated by INVOICES and the related components:
1. First open the EILOCAL file.
2. In the [Directory] section, locate the entry for Logfile=, for example:
[Directory]
GlobalPath=C:\Users\Public\READSOFT\INVOICES\GlobalPath\
Programs=C:\Program Files (x86)\ReadSoft\INVOICES\Bin\
LogFile=C:\Users\Public\READSOFT\INVOICES\Log\
Images=C:\Users\Public\READSOFT\INVOICES\Images\
...
3. Navigate to the path indicated by the Logfile entry.
4. Some log files may be written to the root of the Logfile directory, while some may be found in the EHLog dated folders.
In some cases, these are further segregated by module.
Since all users should have direct access to their log directory, users will be able to complete the steps above when requested.
NOTE: Kofax does NOT recommend the use of UNC paths for log files. In addition to generating errors in some cases, log files generated via this method are indistinguishable by user and are severely devalued by the process.
