"The invoice could not be opened" is displayed when attempting to open an invoice record

Issue

When a user attempts to open an invoice record, such as from the Manager module's invoices list, a message is displayed, "The invoice could not be opened."

 

Cause

Invoice records are associated with images on the file system of the customer's environment. When an invoice is opened, this image is loaded for display. If the image is missing or otherwise not found, a message "The invoice could not be opened" is returned.

 

Solution

If the associated image is available on the file system, the most likely cause of the error is no access by the user. The customer's IT department can help rectify any access issues.

If the associated image is missing from the file system, the invoice record will need to be deleted and reprocessed.
