When troubleshooting an issue in WEB CYCLE, the trace logs may need to be reviewed to find specific errors. This can be achieved by using the getLog.do action in WEB CYCLE.

To download the trace logs, do the following:

  1. Log in to WEB CYCLE in a web browser.
  2. In the browser's address bar, remove init.do from the end of the URL (if present), replace it with getLog.do, and then press Enter.

For example:
http://<server address>:8080/webcycle-app/getLog.do

  1. A JAR file download will be presented. Set a save location for the file, and then click Save. The JAR file is a Java archive file that can be opened with a ZIP tool to extract the logs. Once extracted, the logs can be opened in a text editor for review.

  2. To view logs for a specific date, add ?date= action to the end of the URL.

For example:
http://<server address>:8080/webcycle-app/getLog.do&?date=22.12.09

Note: The date format is location based. For US locale use a MM/DD/YY format.

To view the trace logs directly in the browser, do the following:

  1. Log in to WEB CYCLE in a web browser.
  2. In the browser's address bar, remove init.do from the end of the URL (if present), replace it with getLog.do?action_name=display, and then press Enter.

For example:
http://<server address>:8080/webcycle-app/getLog.do?action_name=display

  1. Open the desired log from the list.
  2. To view logs for a specific date, use ?date= URL action.

For example:
http://<server address>:8080/webcycle-app/getLog.do?action_name=display&? date=22.12.09

Note: The date format is location based. For US locale use a MM/DD/YY format.
