*** Archive *** Is Load Balancing Required Between KTA Web And App Servers

Question / Problem: 

Typically, in a Kofax TotalAgility environment where Web and Application servers are split and there are multiple Web servers, a Load Balancer would be configured for handling requests made to the Web servers. However, is load balancing required between the Web and App servers?

Answer / Solution: 

For multiple separated KTA servers, it is not required to have a load balancer between the Web and App servers, although, in a Production environment scenario it would be recommended in order to provide for High Availability. Without load balancing a Web server would point directly to a specific App server.
