Question / Problem:
When creating Azure SQL Connection in Tenant Management, is it possible to specify an Azure SQL Elastic Pool?
Answer / Solution:
Yes, it is possible to specify Azure SQL Elastic Pool, but for KTA 7.6 and below, it has to be done manually. Starting with KTA 7.7, you will be able to specify an Azure SQL Elastic Pool via the SQLAzureDBEditionOptions Settings in the config file.
In KTA 7.6 and below, TMS does not have an option to specify a pool, as it only defines a DB Server. Therefore, a tenant DB needs to be manually adjusted into a pool via the Azure portal after the tenant creation.
You need to set it as “SERVICE_OBJECTIVE = ELASTIC_POOL ( name = <Name of the Pool> )”
Currently, the default is set as “SERVICE_OBJECTIVE = ‘S0’”
