How to enable KTA License Service Debug logging

Answer / Solution: 

 

To enable KTA License service debug logging on the server that hosts the KTA Licensing service:

  1. Create the following folder, granting the the KTA service user account full control permissions:
    C:\KTAdebug
     
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows
     
  3. Open win.ini in a text editor such as Notepad
     
  4. Add the following section (if it does not already exist):
    [KDB]
    File=On
    filename=C:\KTAdebug\licensedebug.log
    
  5. Save the changes to win.ini
     
  6. Restart the KTA License Service
