SMTP email server support for OAuth
Issue
In KTA versions 7.10 and below, the SMTP email server configuration currently supports Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication only.
Basic authentication in Exchange Online is currently being deprecated and eventually fully phased out.
The below section is from the article link above on the MS website. SMTP authentication can still be used after the 1st of October 2022.
SMTP AUTH will still be available when Basic authentication is permanently disabled on October 1, 2022. The reason SMTP will still be available is that many multi-function devices such as printers and scanners can't be updated to use modern authentication.
Solution
Email server SMTP will support OAuth2 starting in KTA 7.11. This version is slated for release at the end of 2022.
