Question / Problem:
How to retrieve the Imprinter Counter value from the last image scanned and store it in a KTA 7.4 or 7.5 Global Variable for use in seeding the Starting Imprinter Counter value for the next scan.
Answer / Solution:
The default behavior in KTA when scanning using a Scan Create New Job form is that the scanner's imprinter counter will reset each time the scan source is loaded. However, functionality was added in Kofax TotalAgility (KTA) 7.4 that allows the scan form to retrieve the Imprinter Counter value from the last image scanned. This value can be saved to a Global Variable for use in seeding the starting Imprinter Counter value the next time the scan source is loaded.
If using the Kofax Software VRS - TWAIN scan source, Kofax VRS 188.8.131.52 (Service Pack 1, Fix Pack 1) or higher must be installed on the scan station so that VRS can pass the Imprinter Counter value between the scanner and KTA.
The scanner must have a functioning Imprinter installed (complete with ink cartridge) for this functionality to work.
