Upgrade database reports: "Partition function can only be created in Enterprise edition of SQL Server. Only Enterprise edition of SQL Server supports partitioning".
The DB scripts can create table partitioning to improve performance, however some versions of SQL do not support this feature. The scripts have a condition not to create table partitions if its not supported on the version of SQL, and was fixed in newer DB script versions.
This should not occur on newer versions of KTA as the SQL scripts should not create table partitioning if it's not supported by the version of SQL server.
If it does occur, if possible, you could try installing a SQL Server Service Pack with this feature. for example, applying update SP1 to SQL Server 2016 Standard edition.
