Multiple https bindings in IIS

Article # 3040276 - Page views: 60

Issue

With multiple http or https bindings in IIS users may receive an error message when attempting to log into the KTA Designer or Workspace. Below is an example of the error that might be thrown.

The application event log may reference errors similar to the following:

Exception: System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException: The service '/TotalAgility/Services/Sdk/UserService.svc' cannot be
activated due to an exception during compilation. The exception message is: This collection already contains an address with scheme
https. There can be at most one address per scheme in this collection. If your service is being hosted in IIS you can fix the problem
by setting 'system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/multipleSiteBindingsEnabled' to true or specifying
'system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/baseAddressPrefixFilters'.

Cause

By default, KTA does not support the use of multiple http or https bindings.  Below is an example of multiple https bindings being configured on the Default Web Site in IIS.

Solution

-Remove any unnecessary https bindings in IIS.

-Should multiple https bindings be required, the web.config file for KTA can be updated to with the change of the multipleSiteBindingsEnabled value changed from the default, which is 'false', to 'true'
