Question / Problem:

Why do Kofax Transformation Modules dictionary and database files end up with longer names than the original file names?

Answer / Solution:

When publishing the Batch Class, the database/dictionary files are copied with the project to CaptureSV\PubTypes\Custom\{GUID}\LCI.Mailroom, and the name of the database/dictionary is prepended to the filename.

When exporting the Batch Class, the published version of the project (with the prepended database/dictionary files) is added to the CAB file.

When importing the CAB file and publishing the Batch Class, the database/dictionary name is prepended again.

Worth noting is that this will only occur when the Batch Class is exported then republished. Republishing a Batch Class already in the system will not prepend the name.

Example original file:

OriginalFilename.txt

After Publish:

DictionaryName_OriginalFilename.txt

After Export and Republish:

DictionaryName_DictionaryName_OriginalFilename.txt
