Question / Problem:

What exceptions do I need to add to Windows' Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for AXP/KTM?

Answer / Solution:

Add the following exceptions to DEP for Ascent Xtrata Pro:

  • Under the \Program Files\Common Files\LCI\Server folder — Add exceptions for all “.exe” files in this folder.
  • Under \AscentSS\ServLib\Bin — Add the “Mailroomservice”, “MailroomSVR”, and “Mailroomval” executables to the exceptions.

To add exceptions:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
  2. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
  3. On the Data Execution Prevention tab, use one of the following procedures:
    • Either select Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only
      or
    • Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select, and then click Add to add the programs that you do not want to use the DEP feature.
