Question / Problem:

The Knowledgebase Learning Server (KBLS) service is started, but it is not picking up Batches to process.

What can cause this to occur?

Answer / Solution:

In KTM 5.0, there is a known defect if User Profiles is enabled and used in conjuction with the KBLS service.

The following conditions must exist for this defect to be present:

  • User Profiles is enabled.
  • A Kofax Capture user is specified in Service Configuration Wizard.
  • The Windows Domain account (Service account) configured to run the service is not a linked user account in User Profiles.

To work around this issue, the Windows Domain account (Service account) can be linked in the Kofax Capture User Profile setup and given permissions to run the KBLS module.

The defect number is SPR 87038.
