Question / Problem:
In the Kofax Transformation (KTM) Validation log, two settings appear to be used for reporting: SuppressReporting and UseReportingForBatch.
20170110 12:17:27:707 D[Info] 00000007 InitBatch: SuppressReporting is set to True.
20170110 12:17:27:707 D[Info] 00000008 InitBatch: UseReportingForBatch is set to True.
How are these two settings used?
Answer / Solution:
SuppressReporting and UseReportingForBatch are separate settings applied to Kofax Reporting, and do not contradict each other.
- SuppressReporting is a flag representing whether Kofax Reporting is enabled for the Batch Class as a whole.
It corresponds to the Send data to Kofax Reporting Extended Synchronization Setting under the Batch Class Properties.
This setting only applies to the Transformation modules. The Kofax Capture modules use a corresponding setting from the Capture configuration file (
- UseReportingForBatch is a flag that provides the ability to turn off reporting for specific modules.
It suppresses reporting independently of the SuppressReporting Batch Class setting.
Whereas SuppressReporting is a Batch Class setting, UseReportingForBatch is a setting applied to the Batch itself. It is saved with the Batch itself and not the Batch Class Properties. It is also used to avoid issues during updating Batches or upgrading Capture.
