- Pentium D
- System memory: 2 GB
Recommended Hardware Requirements
The following lists the recommended hardware requirements for Kofax VRS Elite 5.1:
- Intel Core 2 Duo/AMD Athlon 64 X2

The Kofax VRS license categories are based on support for feature sets and scanner throughput (pages per minute or ppm). Kofax VRS supports a wide range of certified scanners that accommodate different levels of throughput.
|Kofax VRS Desktop||Supports Kofax VRS Professional features and certified scanners with throughput up to approximately 35 ppm.|
|Kofax VRS Workgroup||Supports Kofax VRS Professional features and certified scanners with throughput from approximately 35 to 90 ppm.|
|Kofax VRS Production||Same as Kofax VRS Workgroup with additional support for scanner throughput that typically exceeds 90 ppm.|
Certified vs. Non-Certified
When a scanner is certified for Kofax VRS, it goes through a rigorous testing process during which the best default settings are identified and selected.
To be properly supported by Kofax, your scanner must be certified. To determine if your scanner is a certified device, use the Kofax Scanner Configurator by clicking here.
Kofax VRS is capable of working with some non-certified or “compatible” scanners, but you may experience less than optimal image quality with such a scanner.
To be compatible with Kofax VRS, a non-certified scanner must meet the following requirements:
- Ability to output an 8-bit grayscale image as a single image or 24-bit color
- TWAIN driver or ISIS driver support
The following are supported with Kofax VRS Elite 5.1.
PCI Slot Requirements
Before installing an Adrenaline SCSI scanner controller, make sure that your computer includes a PCI slot that meets the following requirements:
- 5 Volt PCI slot that can accommodate the length of the controller (175 mm)
This short length is not the same as the Low Profile PCI (LPPCI) specification.
- 32-bit transfer connector (minimum)
A 64-bit transfer connector may be used, as long as it uses 5 Volt signaling.
