Can Kofax VRS versions be different between Kofax Capture Server and/or Clients?
Kofax VRS versions can be different in each station (server, client, Central Serve, remote server, remote client) and they do not cause an issue with Kofax Capture functionality.
Some of the main reasons why VRS version can be different from each station in the environment are but not limited to:
- Scanner make and model (newer scanner that only works with a newer VRS version)
- Scanner needing to have a VRS OEM version to license it like Fujitsu, Canon etc...)
- Activated license belongs to an older VRS version like 4.x
- VRS been upgraded to a Fix Pack or version to fix an specific issue with the station.
Upgrading Kofax VRS to the same version in each station is optional.
