Blurry User Interface in Windows 10

The Kofax Express user interface appears blurry in Windows 10



This issue can be caused by Windows upscaling the user interface elements to make them appear larger on high resolution displays.



Solution A:

  1. In the Windows Settings app, navigate to System | Display | Scale and Layout | Advanced Scaling Settings
  2. Turn On Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry
  3. Restart Kofax Express


Solution B:

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Kofax Express\bin
  2. Right-click KofaxExpress.exe and select Properties
  3. Select the Compatibility tab and click Change high DPI settings
  4. Enable the Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program check box
  5. Enable the Override high DPI scaling behavior checkbox
  6. Set the Scaling performed by value to Application
  7. Click OK 
  8. Restart Kofax Express
