Dot NET Framework 3.5 Installation Error 0x800F0922

Issue

Attempts to install .NET Framework 3.5 using the installer from the Kofax Express 3.2 installation media or the installer downloaded from Microsoft's website fail with Error 0x800F0922

Cause

In Windows 8, 8,1, and 10, .NET Framework 3.5 cannot be installed using an installer executable file.  It must be installed from the Turn Windows Features On or Off window in Programs and Features.

Solution

1. Open the Windows Control Panel
    
2. Open Programs and Features
    
3. Click Turn Windows Features On or Off
    
4. Check the checkbox for .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)
    
5. Click OK
    
6. Once the installation is complete, reboot the PC
    
7. Proceed with the Kofax Express 3.2 installation
