QAID # 15285 Published
Question / Problem:
Errors occur intermittently when using a Kodak i600 TWAIN driver on a 64-bit Windows 7 OS with VRS Multicore Processing turned on.
The VRS Test Application (VCDemo) will encounter the error:
Error 20160 - Bad handle or unable to access data with handle.
The Kofax Capture Scan module produces the following error:
An error occurred while scanning or importing - Bad identification parameter supplied.
Answer / Solution:
The errors may be eliminated by:
- Turning off the VRS Multicore Processing
- Using the certified “Kodak i600 Series (Software)" ISIS driver in the Scanner Configuration Utility.
- Using Windows 7 32-bit OS.
This behavior has been documented in SPR 88869.
The Kodak i600 series TWAIN driver is not certified for use with Kofax VRS 5.x. While it is considered a certified scan source in Kofax VRS 4.5, the preferred scan source for this scanner is the certified ISIS driver.
