Disable Desktop Productivity Add Ins

Issue

How to disable Kofax VRS Desktop Productivity Add-Ins for Microsoft Office applications or Windows File Explorer

Cause

By default, Kofax VRS 5.2 installs and enables add-ins for the following Microsoft applications:

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Outlook
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Microsoft Word
• File Explorer

The Microsoft Office add-ins add a Kofax VRS menu with options to Fast Scan, Scan with Preview, and select a scan profile.  The File Explorer Add-In adds Fast Scan and Scan with Preview options to the menu that appears when the user right-clicks on a folder.

Solution

To disable a Kofax VRS Desktop Productivity Add-In:

1. Run VRSAdministrationConsole.exe
2. Navigate to the Desktop Productivity screen
3. Uncheck the checkbox for each add-in to be disabled
4. Click Save
