Disable Out of Paper Auto Resolve Message

Issue

How to disable the Out of Paper Auto Resolve message in Kofax VRS

Cause

Kofax VRS has an Auto Resolve feature that holds scanning open when the scanner runs out of paper, allowing the user to reload more paper into the scanner or to end scanning.  Some users prefer that scanning simply end when the scanner runs out of paper without being prompted to add more paper.

The Out of Paper Auto Resolve message is disabled by default in clean installations of Kofax VRS 5.2.  It is still enabled if VRS is upgraded to 5.2 from a previous version.

Solution

To disable the Out of Paper Auto Resolve message:

1. Open the VRS Administration Console (VRSAdministrationConsole.exe)
    
2. Navigate to the Exceptions screen
    
3. In the Error table, set the Out of Paper value to Return Error
   
    
4. Click Save
    
5. Click Close
