Question / Problem:
The following error occurs when attempting to install a Fix Pack for Kofax VRS 5.2:
A Kofax VRS component or the help appears to be running. Please close the application and click OK to continue this installation. To end this installation, click Cancel.
Answer / Solution:
This error can occur if any applications that use Kofax VRS / ImageControls are running. It can also occur if any of the following Microsoft Office applications are running due to their use of the Kofax VRS 5.2 Desktop Productivity Add-Ins:
To resolve this issue:
- Shut down any applications and/or services that use Kofax VRS / Image Controls for scanning, image cleanup, or bar code / patch code recognition
- Shut down all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
- Click OK to continue the installation (or run the Fix Pack installer again if Cancel has already been clicked).
