Question / Problem:
How to change the file name and storage location path used to save scanned images in VCDemo.
Answer / Solution:
By default, VCDemo saves scanned images to the \ImgCtls\bin folder using the file name SCN.tif for multi-page image files and SCN001.tif, SCN002.tif, and so on for single-page image files. The location and base filename can be configured using the Save Files To... option in the File Menu.
Changes to the file name and/or storage path must be configured prior to scanning for the changes to take effect
To change the Image File Name and/or Storage location path:
- From the File menu, select
Save Files To...
- In the Save Files To window, select the folder where the images will be saved.
- In the File Name field, enter the base file name
When saving single-page image files, VCDemo will append a three-digit number to the end of the configured file name (before the file extension), so setting the file name to myscannedimage.tif will result in VCDemo saving the images as myscannedimage001.tif, myscannedimage002.tif, myscannedimage003.tif, etc.
- Click Save
VCDemo persists the image storage location path between sessions, but it does not persist custom file names between sessions. Closing and opening VCDemo may result in saving images called SCN.tif or SCN001.tif to the last-used image storage location path.
