Does Kofax support the use of scanners that emulate another scanner model with any Kofax products?

Answer

Some scanners have an Emulation Mode that allows the user to configure the scanner to emulate another scanner model.

Kofax does not support the use of scanners in Emulation Mode, as such a configuration may cause issues with connectivity, licensing, and image quality. Kofax fine-tunes scanner model- specific settings in its products that allow features such as image cleanup the best possible chance of success.

Kofax Technical Support will provide best-effort troubleshooting for issues involving scanners in emulation mode only in cases where a bug or compatibility issue prevents the scanner from being used without emulation.
