Imprinter Settings in Scanner Driver Overwritten by Capture Batch Class Imprinter Settings
Issue
When scanning in Kofax Capture 11.x, any changes made by the user to the scanner driver's imprinter settings are overwritten by the imprinter settings defined in the batch class settings.
Cause
By default, when scanning in Kofax Capture, the imprinter settings defined in the batch class will override any changes that the scan operator may make to the imprinter settings in the scanner driver. This behavior is considered to be "as-designed" as this behavior allows Capture to populate the imprinter string with values derived from Capture macros.
Fix Pack 2 for VRS 5.1.1 introduced a switch that determines whether the imprinter settings are defined by the batch class settings or by the scanner driver. This switch applies to all scan jobs on the scan station and is not limited to a particular batch class.
Solution
To grant control of the imprinter to the scanner driver:
- Navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Vrs
- Create a new text file called
ModConfig.ini
if one does not already exist.
- Open
ModConfig.ini
in a text editor such as Notepad.
- Add the following:
[SWE10032] ENDORSER=0
-
Save the changes to
ModConfig.ini
-
Restart any processes and/or services that use Image Controls.
If the Kofax VRS version that is installed on the scan station is older then 5.1.1.2, an In-Place upgrade to latest version of Kofax VRS is required to be able to set up the Imprinter settings within the scanner driver.
