Out of Memory Error 7 Scanning in Color at Maximum Page Size and 400 DPI using a Fujitsu fi-7x60 or fi-7x80

Issue

When scanning in Color at Maximum paper size and 400 DPI or greater using a Fujitsu fi-7x60 or fi- 7x80 PaperStreamIP (ISIS) scanner, Kofax VRS reports the following error:

-7 Out of memory

Cause

This issue can occur when the size of the images received from the scanner is greater than the memory allocated to the VRS image buffers.

This issue has been documented in TFS 564608.

Solution

To mitigate the impact of the image size on the Kofax VRS image buffers:

1. Navigate to the PaperStreamIP (ISIS) scanner driver's Page settings.
2. Set Cropping to End of Page Detection & Overscan.
3. Set the End Correction Fill Color to Black.
4. Save the changes to the VRS Profile.
